Family Portrait

Slightly based off of [link] this song and a vent poem I did once:

They fight.
They scream.
While I hide under my bed
Pretending it's a dream.

I cover my ears.
While I wait for this to disappear.

I hear doors
Slamming some more.
I hear glass breaking
My every awaking.
I wonder when this will end.
I wonder if this is something I can mend.

As I'm put in between
I have no say.
It's like I'm not here
Just an obstacle in the way.
They fight about me
They fight about money.
As the yelling gets louder, I hear my mommy

She's crying again
Daddy broke her wrists
Punching a hole in the wall,
Falling off the wall with a great fall.
Unable to be put back together again.

Our family portrait
Shattered and broke.
What we once had,
Never was spoke.
Shards dumped into that wary hole
We used to be so happy
Where did that all go?
And as I go to sleep
It taunts me and haunts me
Reminding me in my dreams constantly
That what we once had will never be...
